Description:

Healing gel for horses, dogs and cats.

Composition:

Ketanserin 3,45 mg

Indications:

Treatment of wounds of different origin through the development of normal granulation tissue and the prevention of keloid formation.

Therapeutic Action:

Ketanserin is a potent selective antagonist of serotonin S2 receptors. It also has a mild antagonistic effect on alpha, adrenergic, H1 histamine and D2 dopamine receptors. The healing properties of Cicatrizan gel are based on its antiserotonin effect: through antagonism of serotonin-induced vasoconstriction, platelet aggregation, and subsequent mediator release, and through antagonism to increased vascular wall permeability induced by serotonin, a better microcirculation and oxygen supply to the wound are obtained. In addition, Cicatrizan gel prevents the excessive formation of granulation tissue, presumably through the prevention of platelet aggregation and the consequent release of growth factors, the reduction of extravasations of blood macromolecules and the inhibition of the activity of Serotonin growth on myofibroblasts.

Dosage and Administration:

After careful cleaning, apply Cicatrizan gel twice a day to the entire surface and edges of the wound.
